about

I Hope You Find Happiness I hope you find happiness was written about the droves of Irish people that left the country to find better lives.

They had to leave family, friends loved ones behind to fly half way across the world. So many of my own friends and close family were among them and I saw first hand how difficult it is, both for those who leave and those who stay.

I would never hold it against anyone for leaving. Life is too short to dwell on anything. The lyrics of the second verse
"Dear friends of mine I hope you know
How quick this light of ours can go" actually refers to how little time we have on this planet. It goes on to say.
"So you best enjoy ephemeral sun, don't be afraid of the dark". That means you should enjoy yourself when you can and don't fear the unknown!

People have a habit of overthinking themselves out of doing something because of what (might) happen. You're better off trying something and not liking it, rather than not trying it at all. My younger self was guilty of this, but as time goes on It teaches you not to dwell.

From experience, I know that being away from home can cause depression. I won't go into detail but I know depression can be dealt with in many ways. Getting out and doing some exercise, Chatting to friends, getting out in the great outdoors etc. There are many ways of coping.

Suppressing a problem rarely cures it, I've learned this the hard way. Now I try to tackle things head on. Problems dealt with quickly are much easier to deal with because if you dwell and overthink, they grow. I learned this on my travels along with many other things, So even in tough times you learn valuable lessons.

I hope You Find Happiness is a message to my friends that have hit this type of rough patch. Don't let it get you down, look around and find whatever make you happy.

lyrics

I Hope You Find Happiness

Dear Friends of mine whom I no longer see
I hope you found your missing feet
I trust that life is good over sea’s
Don’t be afraid of the dark X3

Dear friends of mine who left your homes
To find a place to call your own
I know that tears of fears have flown
Don’t be afraid of the dark

I hope You find happiness
I hope you find happiness
With open arms

Dear friends of mine I hope you know
How quick this light of ours can go
So you best enjoy ephemeral sun
Don’t be afraid of the dark, Don’t be afraid of the dark

I hope you find happiness
I hope you find happiness
Caz wherever you are be it near or far
There’s a light shinning in the dark
I hope you find happiness

With open Arms
Tomorrow waits with open arms
Tomorrow’s waiting in the dark
With a needle for your scars

I hope you find happiness
I hope you find happiness
Caz wherever you are, be it near or far
There’s a light shinning in the dark
I hope you find happiness
